Beatbot publishes a short, specific fix sequence for an AquaSense 2 that will not charge, including a voltage test with a stated pass threshold, which is more than most makers in this category put in writing. It also publishes an indicator-light table for this model, and that table matters here because of what is missing from it. Beatbot's help center describes the charging breathing colours the same way: an orange breathing light for a battery level at or below 15 percent, yellow above 15 and at or below 30 percent, and green above 30 percent. Across both of those published sources there is no red state for the AquaSense 2. If your unit is showing red, it does not match a state Beatbot documents for this model, which is a reason to go to support with a photograph rather than to work through a colour-coded fix intended for a different machine. The logic behind putting this first is that a mismatched indicator is the one symptom that can be a reporting fault rather than a power fault, and the restart is free. Only after the light and the battery level agree does the rest of the sequence tell you anything.
Step two: the outlet, then the dock
Beatbot's second published check is that if the robot turns on but does not charge when placed on the dock, the owner should confirm the power outlet is working, and that if the outlet is functional the charging dock may be faulty. That is a deliberately ordered pair: the cheap external cause first, the expensive component second.
This is also the point where the two failure modes separate. A robot that does not turn on at all is a different problem from a robot that turns on and does not accept charge, and Beatbot's sequence is written for the second.
Step three: the multimeter test, with a stated threshold
Beatbot publishes an actual measurement for isolating the fault. Its help center instructs owners to set a multimeter to voltage mode and touch the probes to the metal contacts on the charging dock. It then states the decision rule: if the voltage reads above 25.6 V the dock is functioning properly and the issue lies with the robot, and if the voltage reads below 25.6 V the charging dock is faulty. Where the robot is the faulty side, Beatbot's published route is to contact it for replacement.
A published pass threshold is unusual in this category and it is the reason this sequence is worth following in order. It turns an ambiguous symptom into a component-level verdict without disassembly. Note the obvious safety framing: this is a measurement on a dock's contacts, and Beatbot publishes it as an owner step, not a repair procedure.
Step four: the drainage behaviour that looks like a charging fault
Beatbot documents a behaviour specific to this machine that is easy to misread as a failure to charge. Its help center states that water left in the buoyancy chamber after an interrupted cleaning cycle triggers automatic drainage when the robot is placed on the charging dock, and describes that as a normal process taking about three minutes. It also publishes a manual version: retrieve the robot and place it poolside, press and hold the Floor Mode button for three seconds to start manual drainage, which it again puts at roughly three minutes, and dry the charging contacts before returning the robot to the dock.
Two published notes attach to that. If power is lost during drainage the process restarts when power returns, so Beatbot advises ensuring complete drainage before powering off. And it recommends performing manual drainage before long-term storage to prevent microbial growth and clogs. Drying the contacts before docking is the step most likely to be skipped, and it sits directly upstream of the contact-quality question the rest of this sequence is trying to answer.
How long it should take, and what is not published
The Beatbot AquaSense 2 record on this site carries a charge time of about 4 hours, published in Beatbot's FAQ. The help center gives the same pairing, a 10,000 mAh battery charging in about 4 hours, and separately gives the AquaSense 2 Ultra a 13,400 mAh battery charging in about 4.5 hours. It also states that charging may take longer when temperatures drop below 77 F, so a charge that runs long on a cold evening is inside what Beatbot documents.
Three gaps are worth naming rather than filling. Beatbot publishes no red indicator state for this model, as covered above. It publishes a capacity and charge time for the AquaSense 2 and for the Ultra but no capacity for the AquaSense 2 Pro, so the line is not complete even on the figures it does give. And it publishes no charging error code list of the kind some competitors provide, which is why the sequence above ends at a component verdict and a support contact rather than at a code lookup.
