How long do robot mowers last: what the warranty and battery documentation says
There is no manufacturer-published service life for a robot mower. What exists is a warranty term, which every maker publishes, and a battery lifespan claim, which almost none of them do. Across the eleven mowers we publish pages for, the warranty spans 1 to 4 years, only two makers separate the battery out with its own term, and the two makers who have written down a battery lifespan disagree with each other by three years. Below is the whole documented record, cited per brand, with the invented numbers left out.

The warranty term, brand by brand
The warranty is the only lifespan-adjacent figure every maker publishes, and it spans a factor of four. Husqvarna sits at the top with 4 years on the mower unit for the Automower iQ Series, a term it states applies to the US and Canada only, and it is the only maker in this set to publish a separate, shorter battery term alongside it: batteries are covered for 3 years. The Automower 420 iQ product page also lists a promotion of one year of free blades, which tells you something about how Husqvarna classifies blades.
Three years is the modal figure. Mammotion publishes a 3-Year Worry-Free Warranty on the LUBA 3 AWD 3000, described as a limited warranty covering key components and hardware for up to 3 years, and 3 years on the YUKA mini 2 1000H spec table. Segway publishes a 3-year limited warranty on the Navimow X350 and its X3 siblings, and 3 years on the Navimow i110N. Dreame publishes 3 years on the US product page for the A3 AWD Pro 3500. Worx lists 3 years on the Landroid Vision WR208 spec table.
The bottom of the range is where buyers should look hardest. Sunseeker publishes a 2-Year Worry-Free Warranty on the X7 via its official US store. Ecovacs publishes 12 months from date of purchase for defects in material and workmanship on the GOAT O1000 RTK, per the Ecovacs US online store warranty policy, with a carve-out stating the warranty is not available for units bought via Amazon Resale. That is a one-year term against Husqvarna's four, on machines sold into the same market.

Who covers the battery, and for how long
The pack is the part most likely to define when the machine stops being worth keeping, and most makers do not give it its own line. Of the mowers we publish pages for, only two brands split it out. Husqvarna covers the Automower iQ Series unit for 4 years and its batteries for 3. Segway does the reverse split on the X3 series, covering the X350 mower for 3 years while the battery pack and power adapters get 2, and separately naming blades as consumables that are not covered at all. Every other maker in this set publishes one warranty number that, on its face, covers the machine as a whole.
Worx is worth reading carefully because its published terms differ by region and by registration. The US worx.com 3 Year Limited Warranty page states that the 3-year term is available with product registration and that without registration only 24 months applies, and it carries a separate clause for batteries and chargers that also runs 3 years from date of purchase. The Worx Australia warranty policy takes the opposite position on the same components, stating that batteries and chargers are only covered under warranty for 12 months from the original date of purchase. Same brand, same battery platform, a three-fold difference in coverage depending on which country's page you land on.
EcoFlow, whose Blade we track as discontinued, publishes a registration-linked structure too: its US warranty policy lists the Blade at 36 months, or 36 plus 12 months subject to registration, so up to 4 years total. Mammotion's LUBA 2 AWD 3000HX, also discontinued, published the same 3-Year Worry-Free Warranty as its successor.
The two published battery-life claims, and why they disagree
Only two of these makers have written down how long a robot mower battery lasts, and their answers are three years apart. Husqvarna's Automower battery-life article, served from its Australia site, states that the lifetime of an Automower battery largely depends on the set running time of the mower and that batteries have been shown to last, on average, around 2 to 4 years. Segway Navimow's US buying-guide article, dated 9 December 2025, states that a typical lithium-ion mower battery lasts about 5 to 7 years, and backs it with a cycle count: a typical pack offers about 500 to 800 full cycles under normal temperature and charging conditions, which its own worked example converts to roughly 4.8 to 7.7 years on an assumed schedule of four mowing hours a week against two hours of runtime per charge.
Neither figure is a specification. Husqvarna's is an average over an unstated population with an explicit dependence on running time; Navimow's is a category-level cycle rating applied to lithium-ion mower packs generally, not a rating published on the X350 or i110N spec sheet. Neither maker publishes a cycle count for any specific model we track. So the honest statement is that the two published claims overlap only at their edges, and that neither can be checked against a per-model number because no per-model number exists.
Both do agree on what the end looks like, which is more useful than the year count. Husqvarna states that one of the first signs a battery is aging is the mower not spending enough time on the lawn and returning to the charging station too often, and that an authorised dealer can replace it, essentially resetting the working life of the mower. Navimow's FAQ says the same thing in different words: if the battery is over five years old and you notice shorter runtime or more frequent docking, capacity is dropping. Shorter sessions and more docking trips, not a dead machine, is the documented failure mode.

Can you actually buy a replacement pack
A battery term is worth little if the pack is not sold as a part, and the availability record is uneven. On the Mammotion US store's accessories collection, read today across all 29 listed products, replacement batteries are listed for the LUBA mini AWD 1500 and YUKA mini 800, for the YUKA mini 500 and 600, and for a group covering the YUKA mini 2 1000H, LUBA mini AWD 800 and YUKA mini 700. No replacement battery appears in that collection for the LUBA 3 AWD or the LUBA 2 AWD series, which are served instead with blades, cutting discs, wheels, charging stations and RTK mounts. Of the two Mammotion mowers we publish, the YUKA mini 2 1000H has a listed pack and the LUBA 3 AWD 3000 does not.
Worx is structurally the easiest case in this set because the Landroid Vision does not use a bespoke internal pack. Worx publishes the WR208's included battery as a WA3578 20V 4.0 Ah PowerShare unit with a WA3795 1.5 A charger, and its winterization guidance has owners remove the battery from the robot for storage, so the pack is a removable platform battery rather than a sealed component. Husqvarna's position is the opposite and is stated plainly: its battery article routes replacement through an authorised dealer, alongside a recommendation for a yearly service at that dealer.
For the rest, we found no replacement-battery listing on the maker's US store pages we read today. That is a statement about what we found, not a claim that no pack can be obtained; a service channel that is not published is not the same as a service channel that does not exist. But an owner trying to plan for year five has nothing published to plan against.
What the cycle-count claim cannot tell you
Navimow's 500 to 800 cycles is the only lifespan figure in this whole record with a physical unit attached, and converting it to years requires two things the makers publish inconsistently: runtime per charge and how often the machine runs. The runtime side is already shaky. Segway publishes 200 minutes of full-charge mowing time and 80 minutes of charging for the X350, with a footnote describing the figures as based on internal laboratory testing. Mammotion publishes 175 minutes and 120 minutes for the LUBA 3 AWD 3000 from its official compare table. Ecovacs publishes about 65 minutes of continuous mowing for the GOAT O1000 RTK with conditions unspecified. EcoFlow's Blade manual published 240 minutes per full charge and noted that all spec data was lab-measured and is for reference only.
Two of the eleven do not publish a runtime at all. Sunseeker lists only a battery capacity for the X7, a 10 Ah pack with a 5 A charger, and publishes neither runtime nor charge time in minutes. Dreame publishes daily coverage by power mode for the A3 AWD Pro 3500 (Standard 0.62, Efficient 0.87 and Rush 1.24 acre per day) instead of a runtime figure, and publishes a 5 A charging current but no charge time. On those two machines the cycle arithmetic has no denominator to work with.
The frequency side is worse, because it is set by the owner and the weather, not the maker. A mower on a large lawn running a daily schedule cycles the pack several times more often than the same mower on a small lawn running twice a week, which is exactly the dependence Husqvarna names when it ties battery lifetime to the set running time. The things you can control, per the makers
Both makers who publish battery guidance also publish practices, and these are documented rather than inferred. Husqvarna's article lists cleaning the cutting deck and wheels regularly to reduce drag, replacing the blades every couple of months on the grounds that sharp blades reduce power consumption, decreasing scheduled running time in the dry season when growth slows, keeping the charging station in a shaded or cool location, and having the dealer reprogram search time so the mower spends a maximum of about 5 percent of its time looking for the charging station.
Navimow's contribution is about charge behaviour. It describes the 80 to 20 charging convention, notes that owners rarely follow it consistently, and states that its own mowers return to the base at about 15 percent and begin charging automatically, which it presents as avoiding repeated deep discharges. It also flags off-season storage as a factor, saying that leaving a mower fully charged in a hot shed or outside through winter can shave months or years off battery life. Blades sit at the intersection of all of this and are treated as consumables almost everywhere. Segway states outright that blades on the X350 are not covered by warranty. Husqvarna bundles a year of free blades with the 420 iQ and tells owners to replace them every couple of months for battery reasons. Where the record has gaps
This is one of the thinnest documentation records on the site, and it is worth saying exactly how thin. No maker behind the eleven mowers we publish pages for publishes a service-life figure for the machine. Only two publish any battery lifespan claim, both outside the spec sheet, one on a regional article and one on a company blog, and they disagree by three years. Nobody publishes a cycle rating for a specific model. Nobody publishes a capacity-retention figure, an expected percentage of original runtime at a given age, or a serviceable-parts lifetime for the drive train.
The regional split is worth flagging on its own. Husqvarna's battery-life article was read on its Australia site, and the Worx battery coverage we cite differs between the US warranty page (3 years, or 24 months without registration) and the Australia warranty policy (12 months for batteries and chargers). Warranty terms are jurisdictional documents, so if you are checking coverage, check the page for the country you bought in and not the one that ranks first.
What all this means practically: the defensible answer to how long a robot mower lasts is the warranty term of the machine you are buying, plus a battery that two manufacturers have separately described as lasting somewhere between 2 and 7 years, with no per-model figure behind either bound. That is not a satisfying answer, but every more precise number in circulation is either an average from a different country's page or somebody's estimate.
